People with a migration background often lack (relevant) work experience. The labor market in the country of origin differs from the Belgian labor market. Moreover, women in certain cultures are not allowed to work and are often isolated.
Our ‘springboard to work’ project aims to empower and train women with a migration background. In the theoretical part, the participants learn about the different work principles: supervisor interactions, co-worker relations, workplace environment, communication, collaboration, accountability, the use of office equipment, and encouraging job commitment. In the practical part, the participants start working ‘on the field’ as volunteers in our organization.
With this project, HWA strives for workplace diversity. We prepare and activate women professionally by helping them discover their professional potential. Our participants grow in competence and confidence which enables them to become an independent entity on the job market.
