Opening GemmA (Steunpunt Gender en Migratie)
The City of Antwerp’s Gender and Migration Support Center will ceremonially open its doors on March 8th. Not a complete surprise on International Women’s Day – a special day for those active in gender equality, including the Humanitarian Welfare Association.
Director HWA speeches at UN Women Top in Brussel
The fourth UN Women Summit took place in Brussels on Wednesday, May 10. At the request of Minister Caroline Gennez, the Humanitarian Welfare Association also attended the conference, which focused on gender equality and the promotion of women’s rights. Director Marzia Masjidi gave a speech on the importance of organizations like the Humanitarian Welfare Association in empowering women with a migrant background.
Humanitarian Welfare Association welcomes minister Caroline Gennez and alderman Karim Bachar
On Wednesday, April 19, the Federal Minister for Development Cooperation and Urban Policy, Caroline Gennez (Vooruit), honored the Humanitarian Welfare Association (HWA) with a personal visit. She was accompanied by Antwerp Alderman for Equal Opportunities, Integration and Civic Integration, and Community Development, Karim Bachar (Vooruit). Along with about 20 network members, the HWA team welcomed the minister and the alderman to the HWA office.
